Three Betway Premiership matches on Sunday, and between them they told you most of what you need to know about the shape of this season.

Milford were the story. They beat Richards Bay 5-0, a scoreline that keeps them fifth on 11 points from seven matches and leaves Richards Bay stuck on three, sitting 14th. SuperSport report that Richards Bay finished the match with ten men, which goes some way to explaining a five-goal afternoon, but Milford have not needed the help for most of this campaign. Two Prediz fans went in on that one. Neither got the score, though one did at least back Milford to win.

At the same kickoff, Siwelele and Golden Arrows shared a 1-1. Two fans predicted it and Philani had it on the nose, his third exact score from the last four fixtures he has touched. He is already 45 points clear at the top of the Betway Premiership leaderboard on 71, with Thabang on 26 and Lerato on three, and at this rate the interesting question is not who wins it but whether anybody gets close enough to make the last month worth watching. For Siwelele the point is small comfort. Three points from seven matches, 15th, and only Marumo Gallants on two below them.

Then TS Galaxy 0-1 Kruger United in the late one. Exactly one Prediz fan predicted it and got neither the score nor the result, which is about right for a match between two sides nobody has worked out yet. Kruger had lost four of five going in, so that is a genuine away win against the run of their season.

The pattern across the weekend is worth holding onto. Seven matches in the last 96 hours and four of them finished level, low-scoring and tight, and the one blowout came in a match where a side went down to ten.

For next weekend, that matters. Richards Bay host Sekhukhune on Saturday and Milford take on Durban City on the Sunday. If you have been reaching for 2-1 and 3-1 in this league, the last four days suggest you are aiming too high. The draws are where the points have been hiding.
